I have a steamer but, alas, no pot large enough to fit it in! How much wider (in diameter) than the steamer should the pot/wok/deep fry pan be ? I love the idea of having a boiling kettle of water next to it to replenish. My biggest fear is it boils dry! Alternatively, is there a “problem” with having the edges of the steamer outside the rim of the pot of water, other than the risk of cool air being pulled in?
